South African weather can be a roller coaster ride, especially during the summer months. You’re never quite sure when an impromptu rainstorm will make its way through, and the heat alone can add some extra frizz to your hair.
We’ve put together some tips to help you survive the next few months and keep your hair picture perfect.
It might seem counterintuitive, but when your hair is frizzing due to the humidity in the air, it’s probably craving moisture. You can help with frizz by not shampooing too often to allow your scalp’s natural oils to do their work.
We also rely on Argan Oil to help our hair stay sleek and shiny throughout all different weather. Not only is this perfect for your natural hair, but it will help you keep your ClipinHair Extensions in great condition for a longer period of time.
- Lose the towel
When you’re drying your hair, stay away from towels and instead use a cotton t-shirt. The cotton of the t-shirt will be soft and gentle while you’re wringing out extra water from your hair, while the grooves in towels can often irritate your hair and cause frizz.
- Use less heat
Try to stay away from heat styling tools, like straighteners, curlers or blow dryers. Like we said earlier, frizzy hair is craving moisture, and when using heat tools you’re drying your hair out even more by simply smoothing down the frizz.
To help, use a Heat Protection Spray, which helps put a protective layer around the strands of your hair to keep it from drying out. Even this isn’t a full fix, so opt for your natural hair every once in a while.
And, when in doubt, you can always throw on a cute hat or go for a cute up do with your Clipin Ponytail Extensions!
